My derived room type adopted the base room type’s minimum rate

When a derived room type suddenly matches the minimum rate of its base type, it is usually due to a settings combination that only the Customer Success Team can adjust.

Cause

This issue occurs when both settings below are configured as follows:

  1. System or hotel settings: Enable “Min Rates” business rule for derived channels off
Derived room types do not have their own minimum rate and instead inherit it from the base room type.

  2. Export Setup (derived type): Check min rates on
The base room type’s minimum rate is used as a limit during export.

Result

If the derived type’s price is lower than the base type’s minimum rate, it will be automatically increased to match that minimum.

Solution

These settings cannot be changed by users.

Contact the Customer Success Team and request to have Check min rates turned off for the affected derived type.

Tip: Include the exact room type in your request so the team can assist faster.
