Learn how to configure group discounts in RevControl by setting room, night, and revenue steps per segment. This guide helps you adjust your discounts efficiently to match your hotel strategy.
In RevControl, you can configure group discounts using the Group Discounts Configuration. This allows you to set discounts based on the number of rooms, number of nights, and total group revenue, specified per segment.
Step 1: Access the Group Discounts Configuration
Go to Settings > Group Rates > Group Discounts. Here, you can click the pencil icon to edit an existing configuration or the plus icon to add a new one.
Step 2: Choose a Segment
You can add a separate configuration for each segment. Select the appropriate segment from the Segment dropdown menu.
Step 3: Set Percentage or Fixed Discounts
Keep the Percentage option enabled if you want the discount values to be expressed as a percentage. Disable this option if you prefer to work with fixed discount amounts.
Step 4: Define Room Steps & Night Steps
In this section, set the steps for the number of rooms and nights. For example, you can set steps for up to 10 rooms, 11-49 rooms, and 50+ rooms, combined with 1 night, 2 nights, or 3+ nights. Use the + Room Step and + Night Step buttons to add new steps or to edit or delete existing steps using the pencil or trash icons.
Step 5: Define Revenue Steps
In this section, set the steps for total group revenue, including F&B (Food & Beverage) and other revenues. For example, you can set steps for revenue levels such as $0-$2,500, $2,501-$4,999, and $5,000 and above. Use the + Revenue Step button to add new revenue steps or to edit or delete existing steps.
Step 6: Enter Discounts
After setting the correct steps, you can enter the discounts or surcharges in the corresponding fields. Ensure that you choose the correct segment at the top right. The combination is always based on the number of rooms, nights, and expected revenue. Note: Discounts must be entered with a - (minus sign); otherwise, they will be considered surcharges.
Step 7: Confirm Changes
Once you have set all the steps and discounts, click Confirm all changes to save your configuration. These discounts will now be applied in the Group Recommendation tool.
