Monthly report

The Monthly Report provides a detailed analysis of your monthly performance, helps you identify trends, and supports you in making strategic decisions for the future.

The Monthly Report in RevControl provides a comprehensive overview of your hotel’s performance during a specific month. This report is essential for analyzing trends, evaluating your strategies, and making forward-looking decisions based on detailed data.

Where can you find it?

You can find the Monthly Report under Reports > Reporting > Monthly Report in RevControl.

What can you see in the Monthly Report?

The report consists of several sections, each highlighting a different aspect of your monthly performance:

  1. Actuals: This section displays the actual results for the current month, including key performance indicators like occupancy rate, ADR, RevPAR, and total revenue. These figures are compared with the previous year and the budget to identify any variances.
  2. Occupancy & Rate History by Arrival Date: This section shows occupancy rates and rates by arrival date, including the most recently retrieved competitor rates. This helps you see how these factors varied throughout the month and how they compare to the competition.
  3. Revenue Manager’s Comments: This is a text box where the Revenue Manager can add comments about the month’s performance, such as unexpected events or strategies that were successful.
  4. Pickup Totals per Month: This shows the total pickup per month, giving you insight into booking activity over the course of the month.
  5. Pickup Totals per Day: Here, you can see what was booked during the month for the same month. This helps analyze daily trends and identify days with significant changes in bookings.
  6. Group Recommendation: This section contains logs of group requests, allowing you to keep track of incoming requests and how they were handled.
  7. Published Rate Summary: This section provides a summary of the published rates, allowing you to see how prices changed over the month.
  8. Published Rate History: This provides an overview of all rates that have ever been published for the month in question.

How to use the Monthly Report:

  • Analyze performance: Use the report to get a detailed picture of how your hotel performed during the month compared to previous months and years.
  • Identify trends: By analyzing daily and monthly pickup data, you can spot trends and understand how they have affected occupancy and rates.
  • Evaluate strategy: Review the Revenue Manager’s comments and group requests to see which strategies were effective and where improvements are needed.
  • Adjust pricing strategy: Use the published rates and rate history to refine your pricing strategy and remain competitive.
