Minimum group rates

With Minimum Group Rates in RevControl, you define a minimum price threshold for group bookings. This prevents group recommendations from being priced below a level that is profitable for your business.

Minimum Group Rates operate independently from regular minimum rates and are specifically used by the Group Recommendation tool.

What are Minimum Group Rates used for?

Minimum Group Rates help you to:

• Prevent group prices from being set too low;
• Maintain control over group profitability;
• Apply different minimum thresholds per period or season.

The Group Recommendation will never propose a group price below the configured minimum group rate.

Where can you manage Minimum Group Rates?

You can manage Minimum Group Rates via:

Settings → Group Rates → Minimum Group Rates

On this page you’ll find:

• Default minimum group rates;
• Minimum group rates per period;
• A calendar to navigate between months;
• An overview of all periods within the selected month.

Default Minimum Group Rates

At the top of the page, you define the default minimum group rates.

These apply:

• To all dates without an active period;
• As a fallback when a period does not have its own minimum group rate.

You can set minimum group rates per weekday.

Working with periods

Minimum Group Rates use the same period structure as other RevControl settings:

1. Default
   Applies when no period is active.
2. Period
   Overrides the default for dates within that period.
3. Sub-period
   Always overrides the parent period.

👉 The most specific period always has priority.

Showing inactive periods

By default, inactive periods are hidden.

You can display them by:

• Enabling the Show inactive filter in the top right; or
• Clicking an inactive period in the period list on the right.

The right-hand overview always shows all periods within the selected month.

Entering and managing values

For each period, you can set minimum group rates per weekday.

Available actions per period include:

• Override default Minimum Group Rates
  Enables custom values for this period.
• Copy the values from the default period
  Copies the default values into the period.
• Restore the original values for this period
  Resets the period to its original configuration.

What happens if a field is left empty?

If a field is empty, no minimum group rate applies for that (sub-)period.

Key points to keep in mind

• Minimum Group Rates are fixed amounts in the hotel’s own currency;
• They apply only to group pricing;
• They always act as a hard minimum;
• They fully support periods and sub-periods.
