The Compare History Actuals / BOB report in RevControl provides in-depth insight by comparing your current bookings with the actual results from a previous period, such as last year, last month, or last week. This helps you understand how your current booking position compares to past performance, which is crucial for making strategic decisions.

You can find the Compare History Actuals / BOB report under Reports > Compare History > Actuals / BOB in RevControl.

What do you see in the Compare History Actuals / BOB report?

The report is divided into three tables:

  1. Current BOB data: The first table displays the current Business on the Books (BoB) data, including metrics like occupancy (Occ), room nights (RN), room revenue (Rev), and average daily rate (ADR).
  2. Historical actuals: The second table shows the actual performance (Actuals) for the same date in the selected reference period, such as last year or last month.
  3. Comparison of BOB and actuals: The third table compares the current BoB data with the historical Actuals. Positive differences are highlighted in green, indicating better performance than the reference period, while negative differences are shown in red, indicating a shortfall compared to the previous period.

How to use the Compare History Actuals / BOB report?

  • Select a time point: Choose a specific time point in the blue bar to compare the current BoB data with the actual performance from the past.
  • Analyze differences: Use the third table to quickly understand the differences between your current booking position and past performance. These differences help you determine whether you’re on track to meet your goals or if adjustments are needed.
