Daily Overview and Rate Colors

Each day shows a box with the published rate, colored green, orange, red, or gray:

  • Green: The rate is within the margins of the recommended rate.
  • Orange/Red: The rate is outside the margins of the recommended rate.
  • Gray and zero price: No price has ever been stored or sent.

A red exclamation mark next to the published rate means it falls below the set minimum rate or above the maximum rate.

Tip: The margins at which a rate turns orange or red can be configured via Settings > Configuration > System/Hotel Settings > Rate Recommendation > Published Rate Difference Warning (orange) / Published Rate Difference Error (red).

The recommended rate is shown in blue above the published rate. By clicking on this blue rate, you can adopt RevControl’s recommended rate.

Additionally, a blue moon icon may appear, indicating an advised MinLOS (Minimum Length of Stay). The moon icon next to the published rate shows the published MinLOS.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Below the published rate, four key KPIs are displayed. These can be customized in the user settings to help you quickly decide how to adjust the price.

Adjusting Rates and MinLOS

There are different ways to adjust rates and MinLOS in the Rates Calendar:

  • Apply recommended rate/MinLOS: Click the blue recommended rate.

  • Manual adjustment: Click the published rate to enter a new price and/or set a Minimum Length of Stay (MinLOS).

  • Apply Recommendations: Apply all system recommendations or only for rates marked orange or red.

  • Bulk Update: Adjust prices, MinLOS, or supplements over longer periods.

Daily details and Competitor prices

Besides managing rates and restrictions, the Rates Calendar also provides access to detailed information and competitor prices.

Viewing Daily Details:

  • Click the information button (i-icon) to get an overview of factors influencing the rate recommendation:

    • Left: Internal factors such as occupancy development and forecast.

    • Middle (only applicable if room type forecast is activated): Internal factors only for selected room/bed type(s).
    • Right: External factors such as competitor prices and events.

Daily details-1

Note: An asterisk (*) next to a competitor’s name means they are excluded from the rate recommendation for that day. This can happen if the competitor is sold out, has no flexible rate available, or has a MinLOS that according to your settings should not be considered.

Rate Shopping: Viewing Competitor Prices

Next to the information button is a shopping bag icon. Clicking this opens the rate shopping view for that day, allowing you to see competitor rates directly.

In the Competitor Overview, you can see:

  • Competitor prices.

  • An asterisk (*) next to a competitor if they are not included in the rate recommendation.

  • The Market Demand at the bottom, offering insight into demand trends.

Events

You can also view events directly within the Rates Calendar. This helps to understand why certain rates or MinLOS are recommended.

  • For days with an event, an event indicator appears next to the rate shopping icon.

  • Click the event indicator to view events for that day.

The event overview shows:

  • Event Name: For example, High Season.

  • MinLOS: The recommended minimum length of stay for the event.

  • Supplement Percentage: Any percentage-based price adjustments.

  • Supplement: Any fixed amount adjustments in currency.

Derived Room Types

In the top right corner, you can switch between room types. When you adjust the price of a base room type, the prices of derived types are automatically adjusted based on the supplements set in Settings > Mapping > Room Type Supplements (referred to as Rate Plan Supplements, Channel Supplements, or Accommodation Supplements for some customers). For a derived type, you adjust the price difference relative to the base type, not the price itself.
