What does the notification "Missing business rules" mean?

The “Missing Business Rules” notification in RevControl indicates that required rate settings are missing to calculate accurate rate recommendations.

RevControl calculates recommended rates daily based on configured business rules. When valid settings are missing for certain dates, this notification appears so you can take action.

This notification appears in the following situations:

  • The default period is not (fully) configured
  • There is an active period for which required settings are missing

As long as these settings are incomplete, RevControl cannot provide reliable rate recommendations for those dates.

Possible notifications and solutions

Missing Minimum Rates Business Rules

This notification appears when minimum rates are not set for the default period or for an active period.

Minimum rates ensure that prices are never published below a defined minimum level.

Solution:

  1. Go to Settings → Rates → Minimum Rates
  2. Check whether the default period is configured
  3. Check whether all active periods are configured
  4. Save your changes

Missing Minimum Group Rates Business Rules

This notification means that minimum group rates are not set for the default period or an active period.

Without these settings, group rates may be calculated too low.

Solution:

  1. Go to Settings → Group Rates → Minimum Group Rates
  2. Complete the missing settings for the default period and/or active periods
  3. Save your changes

Missing Occupancy Supplements Business Rules

This notification indicates that occupancy supplements are not configured for the default period or an active period.

Occupancy supplements automatically increase rates when certain occupancy thresholds are reached.

Solution:

  1. Go to Settings → Rates → Occupancy Supplements
  2. Check whether the default period is configured
  3. Check whether all active periods are correctly configured
  4. Save your changes

Missing Maximum Rates Business Rules

This notification appears when maximum rates are not set for the default period or an active period.

Maximum rates ensure that prices are not published above a defined maximum.

Solution:

  1. Go to Settings → Rates → Maximum Rates
  2. Complete the missing settings for the default period and/or active periods
  3. Save your changes

Tip: The fastest way to resolve the issue is to click on the notification itself. You will be taken directly to the relevant settings page in RevControl.

Once all required business rules are completed for the default period and all active periods, the notification will disappear automatically.
