My dashboard graphs show incorrect historical data
Do your dashboard graphs show unexpected or incorrect historical data? Always check whether you’re viewing BOB (booking position) or Actuals (realised results) via the toggle in the top right corner. This ensures you’re comparing the right information.
Are the historical figures in your dashboard graphs not matching your expectations? In this article, you’ll learn how the display works, the difference between BOB and Actuals, and how to view the right data.
Understand the Difference: BOB (Business on the Books) vs. Actuals
In the RevControl dashboard, you can select either BOB or Actuals at the top right. This choice determines which historical data is displayed:
-
BOB (Business on the Books):
Shows what was on the books at the same moment before arrival in previous periods. This is useful for comparing your current booking position with previous years or months at the same booking lead time. -
Actuals:
Displays the actual realised results (such as occupancy, revenue, etc.) for the selected period.
Tip: Not sure whether you’re looking at forecasts or actual numbers? Always check the setting in the top right corner (BOB or Actuals).
Why does the displayed historical data sometimes not match what you expect?
-
BOB data compares booking positions at the same moment before arrival
This does not show final realised numbers, but the status at that specific lead time. -
Actuals shows the final, realised results
These are the figures you will also see in your PMS or official reports.
Example:
If you are looking at the week of 30 June – 6 July in BOB mode, the “Last year” line shows what was on the books at this exact moment last year (1 July – 7 July) before arrival — not what was ultimately realised for that week.
How to switch between BOB and Actuals
-
Go to the dashboard and find the “BOB” button at the top right.
-
Click the button and select “Actuals” to display realised results.
-
Switch back to “BOB” if you want to compare booking positions at identical moments before arrival.
Note: The BOB view is most useful for forecasting and pick-up analysis. Use Actuals to evaluate your realised performance.

Compare with your PMS figures (when using Actuals)
This ensures you are comparing apples to apples.
