Some of My Competitors’ Prices Are Missing. Why?

Discover possible causes and solutions when competitor rates are missing in RevControl, such as OTA settings, room type availability, cancellation policies, breakfast options, minimum length of stay, or excluded types.

If you notice that some of your competitors’ prices are missing in RevControl, several factors could be the cause. Below are possible reasons and how to resolve them:

  1. The competitor is no longer bookable through the selected Online Travel Agent (OTA):
    Check your settings for Allowed brands and Default OTA’s that RevControl uses to fetch competitor rates. Also, ensure that the competitor is bookable during that period on the chosen OTA.
  2. The competitor’s room type or accommodation is not available for the standard number of guests:
    This may be due to your settings for the Default no. of persons in RevControl. Ensure that the number of guests matches the availability set by the competitor.
  3. The competitor only offers a non-refundable or flexible rate that differs from your settings:
    Compare the available rate of the competitor with your own settings for the Default rate in RevControl. Adjust the settings to ensure prices are compared on the same basis.
  4. The competitor only offers a price that includes or excludes breakfast, differing from your settings:
    Compare the available rate of the competitor with your own settings for the Default meal plan (breakfast option) in RevControl and adjust if needed.
  5. The competitor only offers rates with a specific minimum length of stay (MinLOS) that differs from your settings:
    By default, only LOS1, LOS2, and LOS3 are fetched. If a longer LOS is needed, contact our Customer Success team.
  6. The competitor offers only a type that is excluded from the comparison:
    If certain room types or accommodations of the competitor are excluded from the comparison, this could be the reason prices are missing. Contact our Customer Success team to check this.
